Understanding what crossing a border actually costs. For the teams who need to know.

Movement is complex. The people navigating it deserve teams who understand why.

THE GAP

The people doing this work weren't trained for it.

Social workers, student welfare advisors, maritime HR teams, relocation managers, humanitarian case workers, sports welfare officers — their roles bring them into daily contact with the psychological complexity of migration, displacement, and cultural transition. Their training, more often than not, didn't cover it.The result is staff who are doing their best without a map. Who can see that something is wrong for the person in front of them, but don't have the framework to understand it — or to respond in a way that actually helps.

This training provides that map.

WHAT TRAINING COVERS

Evidence-based training built around what your teams actually need.

All sessions are bespoke — designed around your sector, your staff, and the populations you work with. The themes below reflect the areas where I have the deepest clinical and research expertise.

01

Acculturation and cultural adjustment

What actually happens — psychologically — when someone moves between cultures. The acculturation curve, acculturative stress, and why adjustment takes far longer than most organisations assume.

02

Identity, belonging, and living between cultures

Bespoke, evidence-based training for organisations whose teams work alongside displaced or migrating populations — global mobility HR, humanitarian NGOs, airlines, maritime companies, universities, NHS services, and international schools.

03

Displacement, forced migration, and trauma

The psychological distinction between voluntary and forced migration, and why it matters. Grief without a name, trauma responses, and how to work alongside these experiences without causing further harm.

04

Cultural humility and intersectional practice

Not cultural competence — cultural humility. Staying genuinely curious about the person in front of you rather than applying assumptions. Practical, reflective, grounded in clinical examples.

WHAT TRAINING COVERS

Bespoke, not off-the-shelf.

01

A call to understand your team, your sector, and what you're trying to achieve. No assumptions — the starting point is what's actually going on.

02

Sessions designed around your context — the populations your staff work with, the gaps you've identified, and the format that works for your organisation.

03

In-person or online. Interactive, evidence-based, grounded in real clinical and research experience — not generic diversity training.

04

Where appropriate, follow-up resources, Q&A sessions, or reflective practice support to embed the learning after the session.

"The people navigating migration and displacement are complex. The organisations working alongside them deserve training that reflects that complexity."
